WHAT PATRONATSVEREIN IS ABOUT
We support productions whose artistic realization cannot be financed through the regular budget, support young artists in their training and promote special events and introductions to productions. We aim to arouse interest in the art of opera, theatre and dance across all age groups.
With your membership fee, your donation and your dedication to the arts, you support special, outstanding productions or parts of productions. Another important task of Patronatsverein is to inspire people for the performing arts, who do not yet have a connection to opera, theatre and dance.
OPERA | THEATRE | DANCE
It is often the special, outstanding and extraordinary in a production that is made possible with the support of Patronatsverein.
This can be special costumes, lighting, original instruments, commissions, filming or many other things. Here is a small selection of the work that has been supported by Patronatsverein:

CARL DITTERS VON DITTERSDORF
The performance venue, the Bockenheimer Depot, functions without a fixed overhead stage rigging system. It was a challenge to realize the wonderfully “airy” stage design, including two walls without any visible support and an approximately 30-meter long moving scenic prospect.
The historical costumes were produced with great attention to detail in Oper Frankfurt’s own workshops. Both the costumes and stage design were supported by the Patronatsverein.

JOHANN WOLFGANG VON GOETHE
The well-known actor Wolfram Koch has already appeared in several guest roles at Schauspiel Frankfurt. In this production, he once again joins the Schauspiel’s ensemble. His engagement, the elaborate stage design, and the creation of the puppets were supported by the Patronatsverein.

NACH STANISLAW LEM
Schauspiel Frankfurt engaged actor, musician, and director Christian Friedel for this collaboration on this project. He adapted the novel by Stanisław Lem for the stage and directed the production. His band composed the music for the evening.
The project was supported by the Patronatsverein.

ARIBERT REIMANN
The renowned singer Irina Simmes was engaged for the highly demanding role of the coloratura soprano. The three countertenor roles were performed by guest singers Dmitry Egorov, Tobias Hechler, and Iurii Iushkevich, who are already familiar to audiences at Oper Frankfurt. Rare instruments such as the heckelphone and contrabass clarinet were used in the orchestra. This production was supported by the Patronatsverein.

Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company
A specific light construction is used for this particular choreography. Sponsorship by Patronatsverein.
